I’m MK, the face behind Urban Housewife Adventures.
I started blogging under UHA many moons ago (2009) but didn’t create my self-hosted site until 2011. What started off as a place for me to recant stories about my life morphed into a full-fledged website full of recipes, organizational tips, personal anecdotes, and much more.
You might find that I don’t always have the cleanest sense of humor. I do try to keep things tame for this website. I have been incredibly lucky to have a guest post on HaHas For HooHas (link to my post: HERE) as a way to let the humor fly unabashedly – especially when I want to break away from budgets and schedules. I have also been shared on TODAY PARENTS and Babies, Bloodhounds, and Booze, Oh My for funny parenting posts I’ve had on Facebook.
But all that above is really just a formality, right? All the “I’ve been seen here and there” type of stuff.
Here’s a list of my favorite things (which should give you a pretty clear idea of the person I am away from the computer):
Gummie Bears are an acceptable meal. Red ones are the best.
I drink coffee every single day, every morning. I’d drink it all day, but I know my limits – like shaking and heart palpitations.
I have a LOT of Garden Gnomes. – concrete, stuffed, themed, hanging in orbs, socks, bookmarks, etc. I love Gnomes.
I can watch Doctor Who all day every day and never get bored. Same goes for Bob’s Burgers.
Anne of Green Gables was the first book/series that I can honestly say touched my soul. I will forever be an “Anne.”
I’m like the Fresh Prince (well, Princess), since I was also “…In West Phila. born and raised.” I just don’t currently live in Bel Air with Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv.
I talk to my Grandma (Sweet Cheeks) on the phone every morning. And if not, it’s because I’m hanging out with her.
I have an incredible group of friends; my handpicked family.
I am determined to get a pet pig one day. I need one.
Wawa gives me life.
My dog is named Duke after John Wayne and my cat is Bad Leroy…she’s a girl.
I’m obsessed with home improvements and everything mid-century modern.
Brini Maxwell is my spirit guide. Gah! I love her!
I am the kind of Mom that’s a mix between June Cleaver and Serial Mom with a splash
of Bev Goldberg.
