My wonton obsession is strong this week. (This is the first post in a long line of wonton wrapper posts.)
I’m covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Let me explain – The wrappers were on sale this week at my local supermarket. They were crazy cheap, and since I like to get creative, and enjoy the lack of utensils needed (Hello! Hands-free food!) there were a lot of flavor combinations I wanted to try.
First up, breakfast.
I’ve made my favorite quiche recipe a thousand times for dinner but thought I’d give a mini version a whirl using the wrappers. Talk about easy!
There really isn’t a set recipe for this. I used 6 wrappers and folded them into a cupcake tin to create little cups. 3 eggs and a splash of milk, whisked, was all it took to fill all the cups without overflowing.
Aside from that, I used what toppings I had on hand. This particular time, I used ham, cheddar cheese, a dash of seasoning salt, and parsley. I think the next time I make these, I’ll use sausage, bacon, onion, mushrooms, and maybe a little spinach. There are endless possibilities.
All you need to do is bake at 400 for about 10-15 minutes, or until the eggs are firm.
